G751JT-DH72 Crashing to Aptio Setup Utility (BIOS?)

It's been two weeks now and I've gotten two crashes in the last 2 days. First one occurred while I was in a game (DoTA 2), my mouse went unresponsive and it booted to the Aptio Setup Utility screen (I'm guessing that's the BIOS). Saving and exit just returns me to it. Discarding changes and exit does the same thing. It only went back to working again once I pressed the power button and restarted it that way. Exact same thing happened today while I was browsing the web, mouse froze and crashed. Had to press the power button to get it working again.

Can someone please tell me what's happening? Is it a loose connection on my SSD? I checked the SATA configuration on the last crash and only noticed two entries but couldn't really tell if they were my HDD + SDD or HDD + CD-ROM.

Another really odd thing I've noticed is that I'm unable to have a single keystroke of the characters ' and ` to show. To have a single keystroke to show I need to double tap that character and manually backspace to leave just one. Otherwise I end up with '' and ``.

Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

(My temps on heavy load are about 71 degrees for my CPU and 65 for my GPU. Is that normal? Also on an unrelated note, is there a good video showing how to disassemble a G751JT? As I think I'm going to have to do that once the warranty expires to clean the insides.)

Something is loose or defective. No way to know for sure unless you open it up to inspect things. But yeah, rebooting into your BIOS setup is a sign of a hardware issue, and I'd lean towards your primary storage drive (C: drive).

Suggestions on what to do?

(I'm using BIOS G751JT.205 and I have a 256GB SSD with a 1TB HDD with Windows 8.1 installed on the SSD. On an unrelated note, my system came with Windows 8.1 preinstalled and I don't have the OS disc, is there a way to reinstall Windows without a disc? I've checked the resource page for G751JT and I can't seem to find anything.)

If you're up for it, clone your existing installation onto your mechanical drive from your SSD, then run off of that (you may want to consider removing the SSD afterward). If you don't run into the problem, there's a chance the issue is the SSD.

If you DO hit a snag again, then try the reverse; run off the SSD and physically remove the HDD.

In the end, the only way to really narrow it down is to test each individual component. It might be a lot less hassle for you to send it in for RMA, albeit the shipping cost and downtime.

EDIT: No, reseating your storage drives will not kill your warranty. You risk your warranty in that if you damage something, it wont' be covered (unless you have an accidental plan). If you remove all of the screws to open the chassis, and if Asus can see you did it, THAT would void your warranty.
