G751JT Bios 209 ACPI Error *solved*

Hi there,

I get serveral errors since upgrading Bios from 207 to 209. ACPI Error ID 15.

I didn't encounter any problems and the rest of the message, sais,

: The embedded controller (EC) has data returned when no data has been requested. Perhaps the BIOS tries to access the EC without synchronizing with the operating system. These data are ignored. There is no further action required. However, you should ask your computer manufacturer for an updated BIOS.

steve

Update:

I found same error messages on other computers. Solution was to disable tools like Aida. In my case it was hwinfo64 monitoring in system tray was enabled. After switching off, no more ACPI errors.

cheers

Flash Bios 203 its the most stable one yet (offers good temperature too) or 207.
I think those bios add more problems than soulve some.

You can downgrade the Bios by the way so not to worry any way.
Did you flash using Winflash?

Yes, winflash. Asus told me in a former case, that bios is generally not downgradable. Any other experience?

It is completely downgradable but apparently it breaks your warranty (or so it says in the user manual).

Via Winflash it's not possible to downgrade. I just tried it. The flash button is grey.

You Can Downgrade using a trick

in Command Prompt navigate to where you have Winflash installed, for me i just entered " cd C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\WinFlash " with out the ""
Now simply enter "Winflash /nodate" without the "" and then select your old bios.

Thanks for your advice, but for me that sounds more like loosing warranty, than just downgrading it. Maybe I prefer to wait if they realize their fault and release a new Bios again. I already had 3 RMAs wiht it.

But I can acknowledge, it works like that.

I pretty much think that they could careless or it won't make an effect
And downgrading the bios to your original module wouldn't break warranty because its the original bios from ASUS not a new flashed one. I have Bios 209 Currently and don't encounter such problem but I am not sure if I should keep it any way.

Easy Flash in BIOS will also probably complain about the date being wonky but whatever. I don't know how they'd be able to tell for the warranty, but either way, EC stuff is what they were playing around with last time so...I guess they'll release a new BIOS eventually.
