By the way, the bug occurs even if you mute the speakers! The subwoofer will make a distict noise, before, and after playing the recording, all while the sound is muted by windows. Just start playing something and see(hear) for yourself!

This is really the best way to showcase the problem. You don't even have to play anything. Just open up the volume and click on the slider that you move up and down. Seriously mute or no mute click on the slider without moving it and you will get the noise.
Also I hear there is a thread 18 pages long with a lot of users complaining about said problem and describing it in detail along with multiple videos. You may want to find that thread and link it. Might be hard to find though given even Asus has yet to find it and they are the ones that host it.

I have installed these drivers ftp://ftp3.realtek.com.tw/Realtek/GeneralRelease/7624_PG435_Win10_Win8.1_Win8_Win7_WHQL.zip username : spcust password : hwwk758z
I then went to realtek power management and put it to enable 0. When I restarted I had volume at 0 and I clicked on volume slider and it crackled but stayed on and hasn't crackled since. It seems that the first sound it plays when you go to windows turns on the sound and now it stays on but you can hear a like constant chhh or shhhh if you put your ear up to the upper left side of computer.
Thus, it seems that we were correct that the drivers were to blame. It's still noteworthy that to turn the sound "on" it has to crackle once and then it keeps a chhhh/shhhh sound the whole time. Anyone know why it makes this sound? It's not really a bother like the crackling was as you can only hear this chhh/sshhhh if you put your ear to it but just curious as to why it would even make this noise?? The noise only starts after it crackles that one time.
EDIT - I have updated the first post with the info regarding this driver and the regedit changes needed. Please try out this driver and let us know if it resolves it for you.
