G751 Gaming Crashes and Shutdowns

Hi everyone,

I have had a problem with my G751 pretty much since day one and it's getting really annoying.

Basically, more graphics intensive games (Witcher 3, Project Cars, War Thunder Ground Forces) tend to crash my laptop completely. In most cases, the picture just freezes, then the sound continues for a few seconds before ultimately getting stuck on a loop. After that it's a complete system shutdown.

The drivers are current. I started using Notebook Fan Control because I suspected an overheating issue. But log files show the temperature during the crashes to be somewhere in the 60-70° range.

Did any of you experience problems like that? If so, how did you resolve it?

Thanks for your help!

My G751 started freezing just days after I got it last Saturday - and not even when playing games. It would freeze at any time and it wasn't clear at all what the cause of it was, so I decided to completely wipe it and reinstall Windows from scratch. I've since read things about Avast Antivirus causing problems as well as updating to the latest GeForce drivers through the GeForce Experience app, and I'd done both of those things, but have no way of telling for certain that they were the root of the problem.

Two days after reinstalling Windows, everything is working fine and it hasn't froze once yet, so it looks like it worked... It might be worth giving that a go, although reinstalling everything is a pain in the backside.
