G751 Completely Dead Screen, External Display Okay, will Removing the Battery Help?

Hey all,
I have an ROG G751 series notebook. I've had multiple issues with it for the year and a half I've owned it, but nothing making the notebook absolutely unusable. Until one day, about a month ago, I powered on my notebook normally. I heard it booting up and the keyboard lit up, but the screen was completely off. No light coming from the screen whatsoever. I rebooted it a few times, but the issue still persisted.
I then hooked it up to an external display via HDMI, and I can see the computer works normally, but only on the external display, the notebook's display is completely dead. I decided to do some research online and find that it's a (relatively) common problem, that fifty percent of the time can be fixed by popping out the battery and happily putting it back in. All seemed well with the plan. Except there's a huge flaw in that, being that the battery is non removable on the G751 series. I know that there is a way to take it out, but that would include tearing about the notebook. I'm likely going to have to do that, but I'm seeing if there is any other way to fix this issue without doing that. (I'm not the best with computer components) Also, I thought I would mention that I called customer support to see if I could get it serviced, and they gave me a general estimate of $700 (USD). That's obviously crazy so there's no way I'm sending it in. (With $700 mine as well build your own computer!!!)

So my questions are the following:
1. Has anyone seen this problem before?
2. Would it indeed be the battery causing the issue?
3. Should I try reseting the battery/somehow disconnect it from the motherboard (and how I could do that)

Ive personally never seen the battery cause the display not to work.
First thing I would try is make sure its not a power settings issue with your display set to go off. Go into power settings and set display off to never.
If still nothing it could possibly be the connector where teh display connects to the motherboard. Im not very fond of that connection as its taped in with gaffers tape. Its under the keyboard about 3 inches in from the display and 3 inches from the right side.
If you want to try the battery thing, although I highly doubt this as Ive never heard of that its right there just to the left of the display header, only cable coming from the battery.

To get into the battery here is a vid that shows how to get the key board off.
