G750JX Tinny sound?

Just got a G750JX and noticed the sound is really tinny.. does anyone else have this problem?

try adjusting the equalizers in the realtek audio settings, specificaly with the waves maxxaudio software. the "multimedia" setting works best for me.

The Realtek HD Audio Manager has several settings areas that can add / reduce tinniness to the sound.

The setting that can make the sound the "tinniest" is the Internal Subwoofer Slider under the Speakers Tab. Moving the slider all the way to the left/minimum setting shows how much the Subwoofer is helping solidify the sound.

Checking the Loudness Equalization checkbox under the Speakers=>Sound Effects tab helps fill out the sound.

Under the same tab, I leave the Environment and Equilizer drop down menu's set to - you might like them - but they can add sibilance or tinny sound elements

Under the Speakers=>AudioWizard, Launch the MaxxAudio or ROG AudioWizard to select spatial effects. Although it is fun to have the effects at times, I prefer OFF for a lot of material - it pulls in the Sound and makes it less Airy - and less tinny.

to add make sure u get the newest realtech audio driver, u can find it a couple posts down they came out a couple days ago. the drivers that came installed on my 750jw were pure crap. after i installed new realtech drivers the sound profile litterally doubled like the computer got twice as loud under the same exact settings. plus i got the ROG maxx audio mini program that apparently was disabled by or didnt work correctly witht the initial drivers. personally in my honest opinion if u care anything about sound then i would get a external speaker, a good 1 like my bose bluetooth soundock. cost 300 bucks but its the greatest electronic purchase i have ever made period. only reason i cared about laptop speakers wasd because i spent 1400 on a laptop and felt i wanted every ounce of productivity out of it that it was capable of giving. cheers hope the driver bit helps .

How audio quality is perceived is so relative to each person that it's hard to say whether it's an EQ configuration or you just may not like the speaker quality. If your drivers are current and everything is working on that front, then try playing with the Realtek audio manager or MaxxAudio settings. Small adjustments go a long way.

If you think there is an issue with the speakers, you could get in touch with Asus then. It's possible the woofer isn't working.

i agree with prostar, its all relative. although once u hear real sound quality its hard to even contemplate anything south of it. anyone who truly loves music understands that. poor speakers is like viewing a painting through glasses that turn down the colors, sure u can still appreciate the art but not to its fullest extent. some people listen to hip hop with out a sub and it just blows my mind that they either dont care or dont know any better. hope u get it sorted out cheers.
