G750JX rubberized matte surface peeling

Hi,

I've recently bought a G750JX and did not encounter any issues except for the matte coating on the outer lid of the laptop which started peeling at the left and right edges. I took care of the laptop very well and did not dropped it at all and the only reason I could think of is the backpack that rubbed against the edges when the laptop is stored inside. The problem isn't obvious but when you take a closer look you could clearly see the coating chipped off revealing the black plastic underneath. For a premium laptop, this issue is really serious and i did not expect the coating to be so vulnerable. The laptop is only one month old.

Anyone facing the same problem??
Is it possible to get a replacement unit??

with the laptop being used put and remove from the bag, wipe everyday with cloth, its normal that the matte finishing will go as it goes older. i have the experience and it's not an issue i think. it's normal for any finishing to fade away as it gets older.

The thing is it's just one month and it already had this issue. I'm worried that my laptop would look like a piece of junk over the years >.<

Thanks for the heads up, I'll be looking for some carry bag with extra soft lining.

Infact, I might use that white bag the laptop comes wrapped in inside the packaging when bought, then put it into the laptop bag.

Welcome to the world of Softtouch.... we've been using this garbage coating in the automotive world for years and this is typical... it doesn't hold up to high traffic areas of friction or touch.... but its nice and soft compared to the cold dead plastic under it 😛 .....either work it all off so it doesn't look like its worn or do what car makers should be doing where they use it... wrap it in some nice leather 😉

Yup, it's definitely one of the best surfaces i've ever felt in a laptop.....gives the feeling of being premium. Sigh, if not because of the dusty environment i live in, i won't even bother to keep my laptop in the bag and this problem wouldn't have occured. But still, it peels way too soon although the bag is the only thing that comes into contact with the edges.:(

I just purchased a g750jx and its doing the same thing , So i called amazon yesterday to get a replacement. For 1700 bucks its shouldn't be peeling. So they sent me out a replacement next day....sweet, thanks Amazon.
