G750JX-DB71 has 802.11ac support or not?

It seems like a simple question, but I can't for the life of me find a definitive answer. I'm very interested in this model, but 802.11ac is a requirement (for a reason other than gaming). ASUS itself has it listed as having 802.11ac on their site here:

http://promos.asus.com/us/G750/

Near the bottom, for model G750JX-DB71

But Amazon and Newegg list it as B/G/N, not AC. Unless I know for sure, I can not order it. Anyone with this particular model have the 802.11ac (broadcom) chipset? or is this an error in Asus's own specs?

I too am looking at the JX and I found out the Intel Dual Band AC 7260 802.11 A/AC/B/G/N 2.4/5.0GHz + Bluetooth 4.0 is compatible (also on newegg). Seems like Jx doesn't usually (if at all) support Ac out of the box but this Intel chip is cheap on newegg, not hard to install and if worst comes to worst I'll have my computer guy install it

my G750JX came with Broadcom 802.11ac installed. but some users who have G750JX too are reporting atheros 802.11b/g/n on this laptop.

Just got my JX yesterday too, unfortunately mine has the Atheros chip and doesn't support 5GHZ nor my full connection speed.. really annoying 😞

yeah ASUS puts low end components on this supposedly flagship laptop! heh! can't believe a laptop in 2013-2014 doesn't support 5 GHz. Networks! even my cheap ASUS low end laptop does support 5 Ghz.

this is what you get when you buy cheap Taiwanese crap
