Hi, I don't own any of those pc yet but I've been reading around so I will try to help, maybe someone will confirm.
From what I understand, the laptop you want to buy doesn't come with the SSD, and you want to install it later. If so, continue to read 😛
The answer to your question is "NO", you have to use backtracker and the procedure should be the following:
1. Make sure you have a (possibly recent) 16+GB USB 3.0 flash drive and make sure you take a backup copy of what's inside, in case it's not empty
2. Start your PC (without installing the SSD for now).
3. Download and install Backtracker (in case it's not already installed)
3. Plug the flash drive in, remove all the other flash drives if any
4. Launch Backtracker and follow the instructions.
... at this point the recovery partition (with the factory settings and softwares) will be created on your USB flash drive.
5. Turn off the PC and remove your HDD (don't put it in the other drive for now, so you will be sure nothing will happen to it)
6. Install the SSD as the main drive
7. Start the laptop and select to boot from the USB in the BIOS window
... it should now install the recovery partition on your new SSD
8. As soon as it's done, unplug the USB and test the SSD... run windows for a bit, make sure everything works just fine, continue if it's all okay.
9. You can now turn off the laptop and install your HDD back in the secondary storage
10. If everything works fine, you can format your HDD and to make full use of its capacity ^_^ make sure you keep your USB in a safe place as you could need it a second time
I hope this will help, let's wait for a confirmation... I would like to do the same if/when I will be able to buy one of those laptops ^_^
