This is such an obvious problem its not even funny. Its painfully clear to me that you are sometimes running on integrated Intel GPU. Right click on desktop and go to Nvidia control panel and make sure all your games and 3Dmark are running on the Nvidia GPU.
This is a simple fix, nothing is wrong with your laptop. Its just the stupid Nvidia Optimus making bad decisions. Probably best to Google it next time. Such a common problem.

I have to say, I was silently disappointed to the performance of this tank when it arrived. I couldn't believe that for example I got unsteady fps around 80-150. This lead me to seek answers how to tune up this baby to get what I paid from.
1st thing I did, I installed "Intel Extreme Tuning Utility"
I googled around and found settings that gave a little boost, but definately still keep the computer in balance.
-Go to Manual Tuning -> Multipliers -> tune up the multipliers to to max, (36x, 35x, 34x 34x),
-> Same page, Processor Cache Voltage Offset to -58,59... MV
This will set the processor high end from 3,4GHz to 3,6GHz.
2nd I made sure that I was using the GTX880 in all gaming programs.
-Go NVIDIA control panel, check the Set PhysX configuration and 3d settings - set all to PERFORMANCE
Found this 1 guy telling settings that will boost up the performance, go 3 settings, Global settings, choose High performance Nvidia processsor and follow up these images

http://www4.zippyshare.com/v/69209874/file.html
After this make sure that the programs that you use, are using these global settings
-> Next to global settings there is program settings -> Select the program
2. -> Select the preferred graphics processor for this program: Use Global setting (H-P NVIDIA Processor)
3rd thing I started to read about coreparking
There is a lot of debating that does disabling core parking work, but as I read so many times; it has worked for many, and it did work for me! It disables the processors from going into idle, and it keeps the working more.
After this I recognize that my laptop is using a lot more battery, but my fps in CS:GO was boosted from unsteady 80-150 to 250-300!! This made my day, as CS:GO is really demanding that the game runs smooth and has high fps.
I was myself a bit afraid to do this, but I'm happy with the end result as I'm always plugged anyways as I go. The real problem is, that the games are not demanding the use of all the threads (8), and the power that this laptop has is left unused. Disabling this core-parking is one way to activate that power that this tank has.
Here's how you do it
Open up RUN by pressing and HOLDING the windows key and pressing R once to open it
in the box type REGEDIT and click ok/enter
now go to edit and then find in the options
in this box type this key or copy paste it
0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583
now click find next
the registry will now search for the key in question
when the search completes on the right plane you will see 2 values which u will change to 0
ValueMax and ValueMin
just double click both of them and make sure they are both set to 0 and click ok
now go to edit and click find next
on the right plane u will see a new Valuemax and Valuemin set them to 0 also
Repeat this process until the findnext search finds no more
Now u can exit the registry and restart your computer for the changes to take effect
On windows 8 I found only once this, so don't worry when you press next and you got no more.
4th - Tuning up GPU
Download Nvidia Inspector
-open up the software, press Show overclocking
-I Put just + 30MHz to Base Clock Offset
-I Put +500 MHz to Memory Clock Offset (boosted memory from 2500MHz to 3000MHz
To end: I'm really not too into tuning, and correct and help if there is more tips. When I changed these setups, there was great boost in the performance, and as I said, it decreased the battery life. I hope this helps. I feel like now I have the laptop that I paid for. I think the problem with this computer is not that it's lacking power, but how to get the power into process. Keep tuning the settings, google out how to get more power out. There is a lot of people with these same problems.
One good way to see what is happening inside of your powerhouse, when the maximum is required, is to use for example that Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and keep it running while gaming. It's drawing how much of your CPU and GPU is being used as you play. You want this to be high, as that means that the power is being used. As I was playing CS:GO before and was watching this, I noticed that I was using only 1 or max 2 processor out of 4, and even those were running in 30% 😄 Now I'm using around 60-80% and my performance is double!

For GPU tuning, you can use the Asus GPU Tweaking tool for Laptops to set Fan speed to max (needed on Optimus G750's to cool GPU), and use MSI Afterburner for tuning the OC. On the JW/JX/JH you can just use Asus GPU Tweaking tool for Graphics cards to do it all. That version also has GPU-Z linked in for temp / speed monitoring.

So I did some looking around, and found another guy with the same problem, spiking temperatures and high cpu load,I removed the dvd program and looked for background proccesses that might screw things up for me.
Still the same. Here's a picture of the temps from a couple of mins ago, I'm too afraid to do a stresstest because of how it looks.

This is on High performance with the same changes as hmscott posted earlier.
The gpu is not OC'ed, utorrent is not downloading anything and the temps stay the same when I shut it down. This is really frustrating, im in a room that's about 22degrees the idle temp shouldn't be at 50-60 degrees and spiking to 85ish when opening new tabs in chrome or starting programs like skype. Constant fan noise would be okey, but now its quiet and goes up for about 10-15 seconds when I click on something.
Could there be a problem with the coolingsystem? As this is still a really new laptop I can call the place I bought it and trade it for another like the JX. Which sounds really tempting right now as I will be using this laptop in school and can't have it making alot of noise as soons as I open word or such.
Thanks for any input.
