G750jm no wireless connection issue

Hi there!

I have an asus g750jm bsi7n23, Network adapter Broadcom 802.11ac, OS Windows 8.1.

The problem I'm having here is not an entire lack of wireless connection. I'm able to get online wireless at home. However, the problem happens at any public place with free wifi services. At first this wasn't a big deal, but since I'm a college student the problem has become my first priority. I'm not able to get online at any campus or university. I'm currently working for another university different from mine, and I can't get online there either. I can only get online in those places by using the ethernet cables from the computers at the library. But that is not the solution. I updated all my drivers last week so I know for sure this is not a driver issue.

Thank you!

I am having a similar issue. When I get to my school or other wifi-enabled locations, my laptop refuses to recognize any wireless signals. I checked and everything is up-to-date, but regardless of troubleshooting and manually turning off and on the wireless adapter, I cannot connect! I am also a college student, so this, again, is a huge issue!

Now, having said that, the way that I have been able to pseudo-solve the problem has been by turning the laptop completely off and restarting it OR by using the restart feature. I believe this is some sort of programming issue. Obviously, the hardware does work, but sometimes it just doesn't activate upon starting up the laptop.

Note: The BlueTooth software works regardless of the wireless adapter, so there doesn't seem to be an issue there.
Note: My wireless adapter reads as: Broadcom 802.11ac Network Adapter

What can permanently fix this issue?
