G750JM : GPU Driver installation issue

Hi, I just bought this new machine 15 days ago and I've already run into some problems. While I could ignore the other common problems that my fellow G750JM users have been facing, but this one is irritating as hell.
Basically, when I try to update my GPU drivers to the newest ones available, my system runs into a BSoD.
So here's what I do :
>Uninstall previous drivers using DDU.
>Reboot my system.
>Install the new drivers, do a fresh/clean install of them.

I've tried 2 driver versions till now
337.88 : Doesn't run me into a BSoD error, but freezes when I'm ~2% into the driver installation. Renders the system useless. Trying to reboot the system only leads to a black/blank screen, which gives me a BSoD after ~10 minutes.
340.52 : Installs just fine, gives me a BSoD just 2 minutes after the installation. Again, rebooting only gives me a black/blank screen.

Tried to install these two quite a number of times, have to "Refresh" or do a System Restore every time I run into a problem, which is very frustrating. I know a lot of people run into BSoDs with these new drivers but I can't even install/use these drivers without a BSoD in a short time, besides making the system useless.

nigrr, unfortunately this affects all JM's right now, Asus and Nvidia are working on the problem - some think it is a Microsoft issue - either a memory leak or a signaling issue - when a signal doesn't get answered and times out the BSOD occurs.

Only 332.60 and before work without BSOD.

Keep an eye on the forums for updates when this is fixed.

FYI - it took several months before a similar crashing issue was fixed for the G750JX with 3D screen built-in... and it was fixed and they can now run current Nvidia drivers downloaded directly from the Nvidia site - beta/release versions.

Thanks for the information hmscott! But I've seen many people post about running the 337.88 successfully atleast for a week before they get a BSoD. Or how about for 1 or 2 days for the 340.52?

nigrr, for newer Nvidia drivers it could be some things will work, and some will make it crash faster, but 332.60 runs stable without worrying about when your next BSOD is gonna happen 🙂
