G750JH/JZ/JY 3X SATA 3 RAID 1600MB/Sec Read 1300MB/Sec Write

Hi Guys, I spent a little time installing and testing some new M.2 SATA SSD's, and getting a companion 2.5" SSD of the same make/model to test 3X RAID. The JZ and JY should be able to run the same 3x RAID configuration.

Samsung Evo 850 512GB M.2 SATA III 2280SS + Samsung Evo 850 512GB 2.5" SATA III
49699

Crucial MX200 512GB M.2 SATA III 2260DS + Crucial MX200 512GB 2.5" SATA III
49700

Crucial MX200 512GB M.2 SATA III 2260DS + Crucial MX200 512GB 2.5" SATA III
Using older CrystalDiskMark v3.0.4 for comparison against the following test runs.
49716

Stock 2x 128GB M.2 SATA SanDisk SSD RAID
49712

Single Samsung 840 Pro 512GB SATA 2.5"
49713

I will likely be staying with the 3x MX200 because the MX200 M.2 2260DS form factor fits the JH RAID card binding posts.

Overall much faster, not quite as fast as the fastest M.2 PCIE x4 performance, but 3x larger size at 1.5TB. A single PCIE x4 is limited to 512GB of fast SSD, vs. the 3x SATA III with up to 1.5TB.

The Micron M600 was another potential product to try, but I couldn't find stock to purchase to try them out. The specs on the M600 M.2 SATA are the same spec for spec as the Crucial MX200 M.2 SATA part, so I am assuming performance will be the same.

Please post your results if you implement(ed) a 3x SATA RAID in the G750JH/JZ/JY 🙂

Update: Going back to stock configuration for now.

Just purchased (2) Crucial MX200 M.2 2260 SSD's to replace my (2) 128 GB Sandisk modules. However the G750JH ocntinuously reboots after making it to the login screen on Win 8.1. If I break the RAID and just look at them individually, I have no problems. I can initialize, format and otherwise use them normally. However every time I try to RAID 0 them together it will not function. I have also tried several different stripe widths (128K, 64K, 32K, etc.) to no avail.
Help! I hate to think I wasted $400.00 US!!!
