G750JH-DB71 Charger

Hi! I've been having issues with charging my laptop. When I plug it in, sometimes it will charge, sometimes it won't. I took it in to the Geek Squad at Best Buy today and they told me that they had never seen an ASUS ROG with a "DC" output. I haven't been able to find another charger that will work and I'm hoping I won't have to send it in. Thanks for any replies!

Geek Squad was pulling your leg, they are all DC output 🙂

They can order the charger for you, or you can order it yourself, the connectivity to the estore.asus.com site has been down most of the weekend, but let me check again and see if I can post the links for you to the battery / charger / etc for the G750

All G750 parts:

G750JH Charger 230w charger

When it comes up check the first link and the batter and charger are there...

When you get the battery and charger you can swap them in to see if one or the other is the problem.

If you can run the laptop without the battery, just the power adapter plugged in, then the power adapter is ok, and it is the battery or the charging circuit in the laptop that is the problem... or

One thing you can try, is to go to the Device Manager, Batteries => and uninstall the 2 entries and then either reboot or Action => Scan for new hardware and then reboot. That has reset the charging for some.

There is a hardware reset too... I haven't used it - anyone else want to post how to do it for us?

Let us know what you works for you 🙂

It's probably the internet connectivity, not the site 🙂

And, it is somewhere along the path between where I am and that site, not necessarily a fault on the Asus side.

Nevermind, I just became able to!

Thank you all so much for the replies, I really appreciate it. I'm not great with knowing things like this so it means a lot that there are people willing to help people like me.

The issue was the charger, when it is plugged in without the battery in, the computer shuts off

PeevishRunt, you can file an RMA request with Asus here:

http://vip.asus.com

Sign up for an account, register your laptop, and click on the Technical Inquiry option to the left. Give them the information you posted here in summary, with that result about the dead charger, and ask for a replacement.

Likely they won't send you the replacement adapter unless you request it, ask them to take your credit card to cover the cost of the adapter, then when you ship the bad one back to Asus and they receive it they will credit the card back.

I always recommend at least keeping a 2nd charger around, and a battery too, just in case of situations like this. I keep a power adapter at home, work, and in the bag if I can, just so I don't get stuck without power 🙂

Let us know how it works out for you 🙂
