G750 Upgraders: 1.35V memory is required!

Please note we fit 1.35V memory into our G750s. New Haswell CPUs require this and using 1.5V memory can cause problems along the lines of:

> Overheating
> Damage to the CPU IMC (due to the increased potential difference)
> Greater battery use than our stated values.

Also remember for every DIMM you add you increase the power consumption by 1-3W each, depending on what you buy.

Once I get ahold of a G750 to borrow for a few days I'll do an upgrade guide.

Yeah you should be fine with these, I removed the original RAM and replaced with the 2133mhz version of these and I've had no issues.

Im thinking of adding 2 ram modules to my 750jx. It has 2x4GB samsung modules. The samsung modules are impossible to get in my area and i dont wish to order online because of warranty and more. A local store has access to Crucial So-Dimms that are 1600mhz with CL 11. But the modules are rated for 1,5v AND 1,35v. Will these still work or does the modules have to be 1.35 only?

Not understanding completely. Are you saying one individual module says its rated for both or two different modules with two different ratings.
Posting up the ram model numbers would help. Generally speaking they should have DDR3L on them.

Im saying the crucial mem is rated for both 1.35 and 1.5v

This usually means: SPD Voltage 1.5V and Tested Voltage 1.35V
according to this link Crucial sodimms are 1.35v you should be fine with these.

Hi all.
I'm a newbye and not an expert of computers.

My model is an Asus G750 JX.


I need to upgrade my RAM soon, to run a software for photogrammetry properly. (It has to menage several 1GB images at the same time).

I have read rapidly the whole thread, but I would like to be reassured, for the correct RAM choice.

The most important thing (and mandatory) is the voltage, right? 1.35V
The other one is the frequency. Is 1600Mhz correct ?
(these values match those of my already installed 4x4GB DDR3...

Furhtermore, would be possible to install safely RAM with frequency higher than 1600Mhz?

greetings all. just picked up a ROG g750jm used. im going to try and max everything out on the ram and after reading through this forum im still uncertain on what i should get. I do know that it has to be true 1.35v but ive seen several people saying that the mhz the machine can handle is all over the place. mine currently has 8gigs of ram installed and its the hard to get to slots 2x4gig. im not worried about a warranty and im not affraid to take my laptop apart. With that being said what should I be getting?

Hi, has anyone tried single 16GB RAM modules?

I'm wondering if the G750 will take 64GB of RAM. I know that the offical specs at the time said maximum of 32GB, and 16GB modules didn't even exist back then. But I'm curious if 1.35v 1600 16GB single modules will work, like these https://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/ct2kit204864bf160b

From what I gathered online, it's mixed opinions. Sometimes a system will handle more RAM than officially stated by the motherboard and CPU manufacturer, but if anyone knows more info or has tested it please let me know!

My G750JW is still going strong 5 years on, and I've just installed 4x 8GB of RAM but wondering if I can return those for 16GB modules.

Btw, small thing I noticed when swapping out the modules, it says 1.5v on the sodimm slots. Weird.
