G750 model port sides.. left or right? (Poll)

Just curious guys.. and want to toss out the question..

If was possible, would you rather have your G750 ports on the LEFT side of the unit, and have the two USB, DVD tray and card reader on the right?

I find it funny how this wasn't thought of.. I mean, I'd put a mouse pad on the right, and use my Naga there.. but that'd be inconvenient when I have VGA, HDMI, Thunderbolt and an ethernet cable plugged in.

Not to mention a pair of headphones and a mic. (yes it's built in I know)


Why wasn't this thought of? Reminds me of the big mistake Lenovo did.. if you can figure it out.

What's the chance anyone would have have VGA and HDMI plugged in at the same time?

I'm sort of new to dual screen, but isn't that how you'd add more than one monitor? Have one running on HDMI, and the other on VGA, and another on Thunderbolt? Or Daisy Chaining two / three?

Don't take the dual monitor thing literal by the way, it was an example if someone did that. ( Like I would LOL )

Oh yes you are right, however most users only use one monitor or none at all, which doesn't cause any problems. Anyway, IMO it doesn't matter which side the ports are on since the fans are on the back, so it's different to every user which side he prefers better and which one is more comfortable for him. In my case, I prefer right side since my power brick's cable is better on the right side.

So I think that it will be different for every user, it's like you would ask someone what color car would they prefer - white or black?

I had a Sony VAIO F 2011 with its ports on the left. I use to do multi-monitor and the HDMI port was on the left which kept the cord from jutting out where I had my mouse. Now I am a bit more reluctant to do multi-monitor with my G750 because I would have a cord jutting out where my mouse is.

I think the GT70 series by MSI is a good example of what I mean but yeah.

Better to have audio output on the right side where the power is because when I lift the laptop off my lap.. it's nice to have all the cables on the right side instead of both sides.

How about routing all the cables out the back?

Away from the exhaust heat, of course. I like the wires out of sight - less of a distraction.

Even better is a dock that I can snap the laptop into and out of quickly - without wearing out the ports add/removing cables several times a day.

For me the sides are best to keep clear. I still like the optical drive to pop out the side, left side is best, as the front gets a little problematic - things collect in front that might get popped by the ejecting tray/disc.

I have too much plugged in to my G750JH right now, I don't look forward to pulling cables and putting them back in, but I do it frequently.

What happened to putting most of the connectors on the rear panel?
