Ive had my JM for 2.5 weeks and i must say , the cooling is incredible, the laptop is soo silent, when i play games the Gpu fan revs slightly, but you can barely hear it literally. Gpu temps max i have experienced so far is 75 degrees when i have not used Gpu tweak to run the fans on max.

On max fans for Gpu, its either between 31 - 60 degrees while playing GTA IV (max), RAGE (max), Metro last light (high), Bioshock infinite (max) Borderlands 2(max) and saints row III (max).. the laptop stays cool on the keyboard area sometimes even cold.

I playing on my desk.. maybe the good cooling.. soo far no software issues but i must say that when i got my laptop, booting for the first 2-3 times it took 40 sec- 1min while doing a cold boot, but after setting up my stuff and accounts it now takes max 8 secs to boot up..

the CPU fan will run hot for the first few times you boot it up but after that, its been cool and warm

battery life is around 4hrs max.. and it stays that much regardless of what you're doing.

everything is on stock.. no SSD, 12 gigs of ram and 1TB hard-drive(5200rpm)

only problems is that its a fingerprint magnet and really shows the oil stains(palm) thus cleaning it up is a bit tiresome

anyone want to get this laptop, i must say that you will not be disappointed at all:D

have any questions leave a comment..

That's what having a ROG laptop is all about - incredible cooling and performance (and fingerprints all over the place)

Hehe. But yeah, those fingerprints are something I was wondering about. The laptop I use at the office is light gray brushed aluminum around the keyboard, and I absolutely love the feel of it, and I've never had any issues of getting it oily. Even if I press really hard with my thumb, I can't get a fingerprint to show up. Is there anything different about the brushed aluminum on the G750, or does stuff just show up easier on the black color?

Just purchased by G750JM. The first thing I did was clone the OS on to a 128SSD I had laying around. Although many here use it primarily for gaming, I purchased it for video and still editing. I added CS5.5 production premium to the SSD and the difference is night and day, I don't know why I didnt make this move sooner. This is basically going to replace my Desktop. As of now I only have the stock 8gb of RAM but the next thing on the list is RAM purchaseing and another SSD. I will probably end up attaching it to an external monitor but thats down the road. 🙂

what about CPU temps ?
Laptop : ASUS G750JW : i7 4700HQ - 16Gb - 2Tb HDD - GTX 765M OC (+135/500) - Full HD Matte - Win 8.1

What could you possibly do with a 512mb SSD? Install GTA 2 on it?

seriously, get an ssd.
even a smallish size but idealy 512mb or more.
dump everything on it and watch your laptop fly.
the difference is night and day.
i dont know why Asus (and others are still selling performance laptops without one.
cpu is good, graphics card is good, ram is good. then they put an old mechanical drive in there and drag everything down.

Considering how cheap you can get a Samsun EVO SSD now... It was a no brainer for me. I only got the 250 and am using the 1tb 5400 as an archive disk. IT was a bit of a challenge to install as you have to uses ASUS Backtracker, but if you remember that bit... its not so bad.

I also installed an samsung pro 256 in my JM and it flies. Boot up is literally like 4 secs. Also haven't had any problems with this laptop. Only game I played so far is planet side 2 on ultra and you runs in low 70's. FPS stayed in upper 30's but I heard this game is pretty CPU intensive and not optimized very well. I did a 5 min stress test using Intel xtreme and CPU was between 68 and 74C.

Bgallodoro24, that's great! All great numbers for a JM! Can you please post in the 4.4.0.4 thread that you didn't get CPU throttling during the stress test on 4.4.0.4? Maybe post an image of the run?
