I've noticed this issue before, but never took the opportunities to act on it. My USB 3.0 input is not reading at 3.0 speeds, and I get the "This devide will perform faster if plugged into a USB 3.0..." message when I plug in true 3.0 devices...

What gives?

I also have a Toshiba Canvio Drive (750 GB) and had similar problem and message.

What I did was UNCHECKED BOTH settings with the ASUS USB Charger Plus and the problem disappeared!
I think this might be a power issue with not enough power to the port.

BSoulMan, where would I find ASUS USB Charger Plus? Is that the BIOS setting?

This is in the BIOS under the 'Advanced' tab...

I know this is an old thread, but I finally got around to revisiting this problem on my G74SX-A1. Fresco Logic have a generic USB3.0 Driver on their Support page, which I installed,... no more "This device will operate faster..." messages. Fresco Logic Support Page
Current version is 3.5.107.0
