(G74Sx) Upgrading processor

Hello forums,
I'd like to upgrade my asus g74sx processor, I have intel 2670qm atm, Can I upgrade it to a 3rd gen processor? If yes what are my options, if not what are my 2nd gen possible options and thanks

No. The motherboard changes. You can only upgrade within the 2nd gen. You can go all the way up to the level below the extreme edition. The XM chips are a 55W TDP, which is higher than the 45W TDP of the others. The ASUS is designed to cool the 45W, so the 55W throttles (no turbo boost) and sometimes overheats.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!
