Hello all.

Since yesterday i am facing a strange problem and i need your help.
Before 4 days i have made a new windows 7 installation on a ssd drive. All works perfect since then, no bsod screens, no errors, everything ok.

Yesterday i have tried to turn on my laptop, the asus logo shown up but then black screen, it doesnt show the starting windows screen, the screen is not completely off but it just black.
After i turn of and turn on my laptop everythink is ok, started up normally.

Today the things are worse, i have the same problem, but when i press the button to turn off, and then on my laptop again it stays in the black screen.

I have tried several times, with or wihout the battery but no luck. After about 15 tries , i just press the button and it started up normally.

I need your help guys for this strange problem.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like a hardware problem. Could be a hdd, a ram stick, and I'm thinking maybe a fan.

Try removing one ram stick, see it it starts easier, then if it doesn't, try swapping the one in your hand for the one still in the notebook. If that doesn't help, try removing the hdd on the right. (I think that's the data drive...

The reason I mention the fan is that we had that same symptom caused by a cpu fan with a dry bearing, I removed the fan, put sone silicon grease on the bearing, replaced the fan, and never a problem again.

If the ram or hdd thing doesn't help, I'd exchange the notebook if that option is available, or rma. 😞

Thank you for your answer.

When the laptop finaly started up yesterday and today since now, there are arent any problems at all ( played bf3 yesterday and skyrim without problems, also i run a hd test without any problem. If it is a problem with hARD drives or the ram should'nt be i facing problem while windows are running ?

Not necessarily. What you have is an intermittent problem, and intermittent problems are a biatch to solve sometimes because they are so crazy. It could just be a matter of reseating your ram and drives.

Hello again my friend.
I have update my ssd to new version. But i have found something in bios settings that i think is the solution to my problem.

It is an option that say boot hd priority something like this , and first boot option was my old hard drive and second the ssd with the windows 7 installation . I think that at first it tries to boot from the other hard drive and not from the SSD thats why it cant start up.

In the old hd drive i have windows 7 installed but i just remove the boot option.

You should set it up to try to first boot from your DVD, then your SSD. 😉
