A couple of days ago, I took apart my G74 in order to inspect a failing motherboard before I got a new one. It seemed to go smoothly, but I should've realized something:
In life something will always go wrong on your first time doing something.
Anyways, it appears as if I damaged the ribbon cable for the second hard drive, bending pretty much all the metal connectors at the end of the cable from inproper insertion to the MOBO, though it doesn't seem that any were torn.
I'm having a hard time just finding a new hard drive kit to buy that includes the cable and doesn't cost as much more than the hard drive itself, let alone just the cable.
Does anyone know of any that I could purchase, or if I could possibly just straighten out the connectors as much as I can and allow it to work that way?
Pics coming later
