G74SX High CPU temperature

So i bought a used G74SX a few weeks ago and i just installed some monitoring programms and im a bit confused. Hes running fine but when im playing some games that use 100% of my GPU which is kinda every newer game the temperature of the GPU increases to 75-80 degrees which is not unusual but even if my CPU is only on 30% usage it also increases to this temperatures and even further like 80-85 degrees. So my first question is if i should worry about it and the second one what can i do about it then? Thx for help 😮

My i7-6700HQ spikes way over 90. I wouldn't worry about it.

Realised yesterday that my power profile was set to maximum keeping the CPU at 100% minimum. Set it to balanced allowing the CPU to go down to 5% minimum and temp now maxes out at 89 deg c.

If you are seeing really high CPU temperatures with even low usage, there is probably an issue with your cooling system. First, see if there is exhaust coming out from both of the vent ports in the back. If there is no exhaust from one side, you might have a dead or dying fan for your CPU. If the fans are functioning, you might be in need of a thermal paste change.

if it gets to 85 degrees with only 30% load, there might be something wrong with vents/paste.

Not that 85 is particularly high, my i7 4860HQ spikes at 95-96 on full load with turbo

With my G752VY, my max CPU temperature with The Witcher 3 and Assassin's Creed: Syndicate is 84ºC (the average is 74ºC or so). With the same games, the GPU's top temperature is about 73ºC (the average is 67ºC). I asked ASUS about these temperatures and they told me they are normal. So I guess there's nothing to be worried about.
