G74sx Hard drive upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my hard drive to a solid state. Still have my stock hard drives in my G74sx. Has anybody tried this with the G74? Wondering if I would need a conversion kit or can it just go straight in?

I am running out of space on my 750gb HDD. So, I want to replace it with a bogger one. How big can I go?

No reason why it shouldn't. Personally I'd go with separate drives, but that's me. Love my Crucial M4 (C drive). If you have a G74Sx series then you have 2 internal drive bays so no real need for a hybrid drive imho. If you REALLY need the extra storage why not pair a 120GB or so SSD and a larger spinner. Or.... change out your optical drive for another storage bay. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-laptop-upgrade-optical-bay,3102.html That's my next project btw.

It will work. The WD Black drives are no different in specifications from any other drive. They are simply WD's high-performance HDD line. I would recommend them, though since you can run two HDDs in the G74SX, an SSD makes a huge difference in performance.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!
