G74SX - Cleaning out the DUST???

With my desktop I can easily remove the side covers and use 30 PSI air to blow all the dust out of the insides and clean up the CPU cooling fins.

On my G74SX - well - seems a bit harder. Not intuitive.

How does one get the dust out of the G74SX without having to take it apart (which I really do not want to have to do)?

i think you can open back cover and use compressed air to clean.

If ASUS engineers was smart enough to give us the ability to force the fans to 100% duty cycle, it would allow just to do this periodically break up any layer of dust forming and reduce build up massively........ Not a fan of how the designed the G74 connectors for the KB so I won't be opening it again to clean it, can be damaged easily.

Or even better force the fan to 100% DC at boot up for 5-10 sec that is user selectable....... not rocket science guys lol

What seems to work well is just blowing on the vents, tried it once and got a face full of dust surprising lol...... Since we can't force the fans, I load up the GPU to get the fans going.....

In short, load up the GPU (stress test, game, etc)....... use compressed at from far away, and slowly get closer, till it starts to break up...... compressed air TOO CLOSE to the vents will just push all the dust back in the Laptop.....
