Asus just released a new Bestbuy version and it looks to be sporting a 1080p screen now. The specs on BB website doesn't specify it but a quick Google search does. It looks to still have a 560m 2gb card though.

$1249.

I'm have tempted to try to pitch a bitch and exchange my BBY8 model for it being my left shift button has about a 60% working rate. I see silver reward members have up to 45 days for exchanges. i'm right around that. I wonder if they fixed these suck ass keyboards on the new models. This is my second bby8, the first one 3 keys hardly worked(all in the bottom left side of the keyboard coincidentally ).

..or Maybe politely pitch the exchange. It is reasonable enough.. Pointing out of
course that it works as well as it ever did right out of the boX.

The keyboards do that ??? What will Asus come up with next ?

It's not a new model...it's just another configuration variation like all those founds at Amazon and Staples and elsewhere. They are all still G74s and use the same parts....just in different combinations. All the G74s use the same keyboard supplier/model, so I would expect every configuration to have the same incidence of faulty keyboard hardware.

It depends about how much vRAM the graphic card got 😉

If 2GB it got 128-bit and if it got 3GB it has 192-bit

Just a figure of speak.

There seems to be an issue with the keyboard. Shoddy hardware or something. Lots of complaints out there about keys not working and squeaky keys.

so the bbk9 is exactly the same as the bbk8. i bought the bbk8 about a week and a half ago and was just wondering if the bbk9 had the gimped gpu. I would have bought it somewhere else but my old laptop accidentally had soda spilled on it and fried everything. under my warranty i picked up the bbk8 as a replacement. huge upgrade from my hp with a 4200 series. love this laptop, zero issues so far
