G74SX Battery Replacement

So, the battery for my G74sx has officially bit the dust as it only holds a charge for about 3-5 min after being fully charged. The problem I'm now running into is that Asus is out of stock of these batteries with no know date of restock if any and any of the reputable laptop battery companies don't seem to have these either.

Any suggestions on places to look or have further insight?

i really don't know what do you mean? it mean you can not proof purchase date or?

No... I'm simply looking for a good source to buy a new battery as Asus is out of stock and they don't know when they will be getting more if at all. The battery for this computer is difficult to find, at least it's difficult to find one that's not junk.

Yeh, this was a stupid question. He wants to know where to buy it. How can you not understand this?

@kibliss, just a note. Pitcher@ASUS isn't a native English speaker. He is going to struggle with communication, so let's be a little more charitable. 🙂 I understand, if you natively speak the language, its a whole lot easier. Let's try speaking Chinese...

Seems to be out of stock now too....mine also went to scrap, holds a charge for a small 10mins before just shutting down....
There are a lot of mixed reviews for the replacement batteries everywhere so don't really know if I should just go ahead and try one (but the prices also vary a whole lot (from $20 to $120 for replacements)

Recently bought a replacement battery off EBAY. Seems to be holding a charge, but don't think it will be for long....
Been on hibernate for the last 24 hrs and just restarted my laptop 15mins ago. Down to 82% charge remaining, I can see it going down 1% a minute doing nothing except typing this message. I did a 16hr initial charge and hope I can get at least an hour out of it until it's "broken in".
So for the $30 I spend I can live with it....still looking for an OEM battery though...
