I've got a g74sx (tz099v). When booting the computer the Asus Preload Wizard always appear asking me to reset to factory settings.
This does NOT happen when restarting the computer from windows, only if you start the computer after it's been shut down.
The boot process is also unusual:
1. "Starting windows.." appear
2. A command-window briefly appears with the adress "x:/windows/system32/cmd.exe"
3. The Asus Preload Wizard appears. Pressing next etc will reset the computer, so I have to take care only to click cancel.
4. Another command-window appears with the adress "x:/windows/system32/diskpart.exe". It has some text related to which partition it will be using (can check the exact text if it matters).
I think this behaviour started after having repartitioned the hdd (750 gb mechanical) into 5 partitions using Easeus Partition Master (great app, have used before without any hitch).
Any ideas as to what is the problem and how to solve it? This is kinda disturbing since if somebody else decides to start the computer they would more likely just click "next" than "cancel" when they reach the recovery app, not taking notice, and by misstake reset the whole computer.
