G74SX 16gig Ram Upgrade

Hey guys!
Soooo, I got my G74sx for work (I do motion graphics and video editing). I currently have 8 gigs of ram, but want to expand to 16gig. I heard I should try and get the same brand of ram that I already have installed. What should I get?

Also, has Asus released a BIOS for the number lock key problem yet? Thanks a million!

Ideally you want to open the machine and check the model of the DIMMS. The reason that I say this is that even if a particular model of laptop normally has certain memory it will occasionally change based on availability and price.
