G74 Upgrades

I recently purchased a G74SX-A1 and would like to at least upgrade the empty secondary HD slot into a decent SSD. I also heard that the wireless card for the G73 wasn't great and should be replaced, not sure if that still holds true for the G74 series. Here's what I was considering doing:

• Add a Vertex 3 120 SSD for the OS and games and use the existing 750 HDD for data
  
• Replace the wireless card (haven't researched which yet)
  
• Add another 4 gigs of RAM to get to 16
  

Any suggestions for these upgrades or general recommendations about something not mentioned here? The user reviews for the Vertex 3 vary from phenomenally fast to completely unstable, so I was curious if you folks had any experience.

So I got a G74sx on BF and I'm finally getting it dialed in. I added some memory and took it up to 16GB, re- installed W7 pro to get a clean install and wipe out all the bloatware and everything is good for the most part. I did have to download the keyboard fix to get the fn keys working correctly though but that was pretty minor. I must say I was quite shocked to find this POS Atheros wireless card in this thing! I figured it had to be a driver or something when my 5Ghz networks didn't show up. I'm kind of pissed at ASUS for putting such a roach in a notebook of this caliber. I just ordered an Intel 6230 for about $30 and I hope it is easy to install! I did add an Intel 120gb SSD and extra memory which is very easy to install but I don't know where the wireless card is installed on this thing or how to get it. If anyone has done the upgrade before please post what help you can. Thanks!

If you were in there swapping RAM and drives, you were right next to it! You really didn't notice it??

That was one I returned awhile back, so I don't care. (Most of the photos I post are not from the actual G74 I own and use.)
