G74 Audio gone

Hey guys,
Got my G74 two weeks ago and am absolutely loving it. However, have recently just hit a catastrophic problem.
After reading on one of the threads here that switching to external speakers in THX TruStudio Settings would help with audio issues, I did that.
Now after opening my computer from sleep there is no sound coming from it; and I can't find the default internal sound on TruStudio.
Have tried restart, driver updates and volume changes to no effect. Anyone have a solution short of sending it back?
I have the warranty but am loathe to use it and be without my laptop for a few weeks!

No need to send it back....just do a system restore back to a time before you installed THX TruStudio. (Or maybe uninstall the program....)

As Brody recommends, a Windows system restore to an earlier time is the best option to start your troubleshooting.

Can you hear sound if you plug in a headset?

You actually want THX TruStudio to boot up with the "External Speakers" setting. The "Built-in" speakers setting filters incorrectly and gives horrible sound. It should be missing if THX TruStudio was updated.
