G73sw-3DE Dual Channel Memory question

Ok I just put two 4GB PC-10600 1333Mhz sticks on the bottom slots (2 and 3) of the G73sw making my Total RAM to 12GB ( I know I wont probably notice any difference from 8GB to 12GB unless I do Vdeo Encoding and stuff...but the RAM was dirt cheap I couldnt resist)..I didnt want to do the ones under the Keyboard cause its going to void my warranty...

According to Intel the Core i7 2630QM supports
-DDR3 1333Mhz RAM 16GB Max ( the HM65 Chipset will accept MAX 32GB, but I guess the Processor can Only support 16GB effective usage)
-Dual Channel Support

My question is...since ...
Dimm 1 = 2GB
Dimm 2 = 4GB
Dimm 3 = 4GB
Dimm 4 = 2GB

How does Dual Channel work in this manner...Does 1 and 4 run in Dual channel and 2 3 the same?

Dimm 1 and Dimm 3 loaded allow dual-channel. So, I think you are alright. If in doubt, download memtest86+ and find out. It will tell you which DIMMs have which RAM, the timings, and the bandwidth. Actually, the Core i7 2630QM will support 32 GB, there are several people on the forum who have 32 GB in their notebooks. @fostert is the one who comes most readily to mind.
I am disturbed because I cannot break my system...found out there were others trying to cope! We have a support group on here, if your system will not break, please join!

Intel tries to hedge their bets to reduce returns and possible lawsuits from slime . Also, if they cannot test a particular configuration with acceptable detail, they will not certify it for the reasons outlined above. Hence why @fostert had 32 GB before ASUS officially supported it. The system could not be tested since the 8 GB modules did not exist.
