Hello all, hoping you can answer a question about my motherboard. Well it finally bit the dust and am going to replace it. Asus confirmed that the motherboard and GTX 460m are faulty. They want exuberant prices for this so i am going to buy used. So my question is while i'm looking online, i see Rev 1 and Rev2 for the motherboard, whats the difference, can i use either one?

I wish I could help. When I replaced mine (a couple weeks ago) I found an exact replacement. But I thought I'd mention a couple things about the process:
1. Be prepared to call Microsoft to get your Windows reauthorized.
2. I could NOT get the fan connectors off of the motherboard without destroying them. Maybe have a couple fans on standby just in case.
3. There are a couple of good Youtube vids, step-by-step, on disassembly of the JH
4.Have some Arctic Silver ready for re-pasting the heat sinks
5. An egg carton and tiny slips of paper (for labels) makes keeping all the screws organized a breeze
6. Be sure to have or make an antistatic pad. I used aluminum foil, copper wire, and a three pronged extension cord plugged into a known grounded wall socket. Just make sure your hooking your pad to the GROUND.

Good luck with your replacement.

Thanks for the tips. Id rather take this long route then garbage this, it means to much to me. Sentimental value i guess.

Well I'm a little embarrassed to say but this machine was a huge upgrade for me. I've only had it a few weeks. It's all relative, I guess 🙂
