G73JW Display Driver keeps crashing

Hello all! I have a G73JW-A1

I'm running an nVidia 460M

I've been having this issue off and on for a year now, recently it's been getting worse.

I've uninstalled and re installed the GPU.

I don't know what else to try, hoping to get some specific advice from fellow owners.

I think maybe I need a detailed guide on how to go into the innards and operate on my baby, using some thermal tape or something.

Thanks in advance!

If its a driver issue i can give you my experience with my G73jh
on windows 10 i needed to remove every single thing that was ATI involved
drivers and all folders and software installed not a trace left on my machine .
*this can be time consuming and annoying with all the crashes...*
.then just simply let windows 10 install from windows update section.

now it works 100% but i have no control panel from ATI ..but i never found it useful anyway ..all games run great now no crashing no lookups.

So in my case,

I am running Windows 7 x64

Do you have a how to guide or what specific files I am looking for?

But I think you are using a Radeon Card, not nVidia

just remove everything nvidia from your machine !!!

and let windows 7 install the drivers from windows update.

i know i have the ati but its a smeller problem
now i dont have the use of catalyst control settings but games run without that control panel anyway .

nvidia control panel should disappear i think but games will be ok.

Use Display Driver Uninstaller. This little piece of genius software will get rid of every last bit of Nvidia software on your computer (takes AMD or Intel display software too for those with other computers).

How do I re-install just what I need?

Edit: I downloaded it, but it doesnt seem to be working. Every time I run the .exe it just shows that it's not responding and asks if I want to close the program

Hmm that's weird. Should ask you to reboot in safe mode. But I would advice that you grab the latest driver package from Nvidia first. Just head over to www.geforce.com and download the latest drivers for your graphics card there.

Unless I misunderstand, I got version 358.50 for the Star Wars Battlefront Open Beta
