G73JW-A1 BIOS Update: G73JwAS205

Can aybody speak to the latest BIOS update that ASUS released for the G73JW models? I'm not able to locate any release notes worth anything. The ASUS support site has the following:

I'm currently running BIOS 203 on my G73JW-XT1 and just ran across this BIOS 205 update for the G73JW Series. Any updates as to what bugs it fixes or if it adds new functionality? Any positive/negative experiences from those that have already installed it?

Thanks...

Unfortunately the admin doing the support page never posts a changelog that's useful. 😞

Hi, i have installed the new version of BIOS (205) but... sincerely i don't like it because now i can't enter to the boot menu (pressing f9) if i try it my computer reboot automatically, (i live in mexico so please excuse me if i write wrong some words or something like that XD), before uninstall the 203 i could choose many options from the bios like activate the virtualization, how many memory (RAM) i want to share as video, but now the only options i can change are date, time, admin password, return to default options and nothing else, i can't choose boot priority or advanced features... is anoying... and i can't go back to the 203 because when i try it winflash is warning me about the version is older... hope this help you.

take care and if someone knows how to return to the 203 version please help me too XD.

Go into the BIOS and on the last tab, there is an option to Restore To Defaults. You should always do this after a BIOS update to clear the CMOS of any errors.

Download the current version from Asus' support page, and copy the ROM file to an external USB stick that is formatted for FAT32. Then reboot, and hit F2 to get to the BIOS screen. On the 2nd tab is an option for "Start EasyFlash". Select that, and select your USB stick (prolly FS0, but can be another) Select the ROM file you copied over, and follow the prompts. MAKE SURE YOU ARE PLUGGED IN ON AC POWER when you do this.
