G73JH vBios Update and ATI Drivers

Guys, I have been getting Blue Screens and Crash Dumps 😞 The story is, I have updated my BIOS and vBios about two weeks ago. BIOS: 211, vBios: 012.020.000.032. Then I updated the ATI driver to the latest: 12.10. Although the blue screens were random at the beginning, now I can't even play games like Skyrim or Deus Ex :mad: However, I can play NBA 2K13 without any blue screens or freezes. Can anyone tell me what might be the reason for this? I realized in the post of Brian@ASUS that it says "This vBIOS works with driver sets 10.1~10.8 and should work with future releases unless the driver base code is changed again." Do you think this might be the reason? Should I downgrade my ATI driver to 10.1~10.8 since mine is 12.10? Or can anyone tell me which ATI driver they are using with these BIOS and vBios versions?

I really wanna solve this issue so any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

I would try the 10.1~10.8 drivers and see what happens. AMD drivers are much more finicky about the hardware they run on than the nVidia drivers are. If those drivers don't work, I don't have an idea of what you should do.

Thanks for your help Zygomorphic! Now I am trying to find where to download the old drivers. Would have been nice if anyone could suggest a specific driver though..

1) I recommend looking beyond the video driver as the cause of your BSOD's and downloading BlueScreenView from http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html and running it. Then post a screenshot of the results so the history of each Bugcheck Code and Parameters 1-4 on your system is revealed. It also gives filenames that are involved in the BSOD (either the cause or a victim) and that can help troubleshoot your issue.

2) Check out this post: http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?24921-G73-still-randomly-freezing-and-bsoding.&p=180294&vie.... While you report BSOD's during games as well as random times, I believe ThrottleStop may be worth a try for you.
