G73jh and 3D question

I need to purchase a new monitor and I have decided to go 3D to use with a PS3.

I've done a lot of research and I am down to two Monitors:


Acer HN274Hbmiiid Black 27"

Which monitor is not the question, I believe both have HDMI 1.4a ports though Samsung info is a little unclear(New Product)

It looks like the G73jh's Radeon HD 5870 is HD3D compatible and will be able to use TriDef software.

My Question:

Is there a difference in the pin out of the HDMI connector on the G73jh that would make it not compatible with HDMI 1.4a?

The HDMI port is fully HDMI 1.4 compliant AFAIK. The only thing it doesn't support is ethernet over HDMI (which is what the 1.4a spec is for IIRC), and I've never had problems with HD3D functionality over HDMI 1.3 cables even.

IMO, I'd go with the Samsung. Their higher-end panels are pretty tough to beat. The only ones that are better IMO are the Dell UltraSharps (and I think those are either LG or Samsung panels), but I've yet to see one that does 3D. I have several Samsung displays on my desk ranging from my small one at 25.5" to my main monitor at 40" and every one is awesome.

I did it,

I purchased the SAMSUNG S27A950D 27", WOW what a display (Arived from Newegg 3 days ago).

Colors are fantastic......

Tridef works great.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 in 3D is incredable.

World of Tanks is good though my frame rates were low to begin with.
