I just got a new G53SW Gaming laptop with 8gb of ram, the Nvidia GeForce 460M with 1.5gb, and with a quad core i7 processor. This is actually the second G53SW I have had as I replaced my first one due to performance issues, and I have the same performance issues on my new g53sw. In about 70% of the games I play I experience sudden recurring drops in frame rate that can drop the frame rate from 40 fps to 10 fps in an instant. I have made very sure that I have eliminated all background processes however the problem seems to be very consistent. Since this is actually my second computer with the same issues I though maybe this could be a driver/bios issue, but I am pretty new to powerful gaming laptops so I am not 100% sure of what to do about it, or if drivers are even the problem to begin with. I got all my latest drivers off of Asus' own website at http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=G53SW&p=3. Any help would be more than greatly appreciated I am pretty desperate here.

Hey folks. I uninstalled the Creative Audigy software suite due to the constant freezing I was experiencing resulting from its conflicts with other programs (most notably Steam and Skype). I'd like to reinstall it, however, to see if it will work with my recent configuration. When running the setup, however, I receive this error message - "Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Setup will not exit." What gives?

By the way, anyone know if it's possible to enable the SD card slot as a boot option via the most recent bios (v13, I believe). I'd like to update the vBios as per the instructions in this thread:

http://www.asusrog.com/forums/showthread.php?774-G73jh-vBios-update-tutorial-for-GSOD-matter

Can I do it with a Cd, DVD, or SD card... or is the USB flash drive mandatory? Thanks in advance,

- extremely disappointed G73JH owner.

Chastity,

Will there be (in the near future) an updated bios for g74 with added memory settings? Just like what alienware have in its laptop bios. As this will give more performance boost.

thanks
