G72VW (670M) - Temperature question

Hello lads!

I was playing Far cry for a few (~15minutes) and th GPU reached a temperature of 96-98 degrees Celsius, are there any reason for concern? I am not overclocking the GPU. Idle temperature is 65 degrees Celcius

That is wickedly high temps for idle mode!!! My temperatures while gaming top at 70C, and this is in rare occasions. You definitely need to change your thermal paste and clean the laptop, or if you don't know how to do it, just give it to ASUS service, so they can fix it for you!

I've done it before on stationary pc's. Will the warranty be voided if I open the chassi and attempt to do it myself?

I did some vacuuming around the fan now and idle temp dropped from 64-67 down to 54-55 idle temperature 🙂 During gaming it went down from 97 to 73(max), What a relief 😄

54-55 idle and 73max with full load is perfectly normal.. Enjoy the machinee do some overclockingg ! 😛
