G701VI 120Hz-Display (type, model, PWM)

Does anybody know what panel G701VI has?

Here is the basic stuff:*17.3" (16:9) LED backlit FHD (1920x1080) 120Hz Anti-Glare Panel with 72% NTSC with G-Sync

But what about type, model, PWM usage? *

For owners: it would be great if you could tell us panel information from HWiNFO64 and conduct a simple test:

With this webpage open set backlight level to 50%, take your phone and try to capture slo-mo video of the screen. Then do the same with mostly white background. If you can see screen flickering on the video (or there are stripes like on the CRT-monitors) then it is safe to conclude the panel uses PWM. If not (the screen on the video doesn't differ from what you see with your eyes), then it may be PWM-free, or PWM frequency is too high.

P.S. Why should you care about PWM and what it is: http://laptopmedia.com/top-laptop-pwm-ranking-rated-by-negative-impact-on-eyesight/

Bump!

Holding my purchase unless I know display parameters.

Thank you.

Guys, hwinfo has portable version, no need to install it. It's easy! Come on!:))*https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php

Please, tell me your screen panel info!

Looks like G701VI has AUO B173HAN01.1 AHVA-type panel.

Can anyone confirm this?

Don't bother with this laptop.

First one I received the screen lasted 4 days - http://imgur.com/pqhvEAi

The second one I have which I'm looking at right now, has pressure marks around the edges of the screen clearly visible on a black background.

The screen frame on these laptops are really poorly made, and considering you will be carrying it around in a bag with the odd bump or squeeze the screen will end up like my first one.

Sending this second one back for a refund. Really disappointing Asus, I have had a G750 for nearly 4 years now and it's really well built, never had any trouble with it and I travel a LOT.

What were you thinking Asus? Sad to say you've lost another customer.

Edit : Here's a pic of the 2nd one I picked up with a black picture full screened : http://imgur.com/66oJqJk
