G55VW Rs71 output resolution odd with VGA or Mini Display Port
I bought the G55VW laptop and plugged it into my new Dell U2713HM monitor which has a resolution of 2560x1440
1) DVI with adptor to mini Display port
I have the DVI cable (checked the cable) and its the DVI R (full signal) so got a convertor DVI to mini display port but it supports both monitors but only at 1080p
I plugged the DVI into my old desktop and it jumped to 2560 so either the adaptor cable isnt outputing the higher res or my laptop mini display port only outputs 1080p ?

Frustrated I connected the VGA cable and 'pow' it supports its own monitor in 1080p and the dell monitor in 2560x1440.
Thats great - tho i didnt think VGA carried 1080p let alone the higher 2560 res ?
So ....Should I simply shut up and enjoy the super high HD signal VGA is giving me or am I missing something ?
