Is that number available in an easy to get to area? Or is a motherboard removal required? Because I'm not going to bother going that far to find the number on my motherboard. 😛

The model numbers for the motherboard are always on a sticker that's located on the bottom ram slots. It's a green sticker.

as an example

52860

To answer your question, no it doesn't matter what version number the motherboard is. Usually it's a good rule of thumb to replace with the same version but it's not entirely necessary. The versions differ from the components that were available at the time. It usually doesn't dictate a change in features.

Hey C4RN1 thanks for the feedback so going from a Rev 2.0 to 2.3 should be safe then i will pick one up on payday ..
