G55VW-ES71 RAM questions

Hello All,

I am loving my laptop but am wanting more out of it, it currently has 8GB of RAM with the 2 accessible slots both empty. I have read on the ASUS website that my platform is 4x slots, so im assuming that i have 2x4GB stock on the motherboard side of the memory slots. I have read that some people state the max memory is 16GB, but from http://www.asus.com/ROG_ROG/G55VW/#specifications it states that 32GB is the max. Which is it?

I wanted to buy 2x8GB sticks but i don't want to mess with the timing and would like to get matching RAM, how do i accomplish this?

Use Hwinfo64 to see exactly what the timing's and voltage are should be 1.35v or most likely 1.5V . Match up the timings and voltage and you should have no problems installing 2 8GB giving you a total of 24 GB of ram

for asus support site spec table, G55VW max dimms are 32GB (DDR3 1600 MHz SDRAM) and 4 slot. i suggest you buy same model, same brand and same size DImm.
