the hdd caddy looked ok, but i cannot be sure if it will work. it's better to ask the seller about its tech specs first (you need 12.7mm; sata-to-sata connector). the swapping is easy for a g55.

i am not sure about this (whether or not there are compatibility issues to have a higher timings). there are many options that match the clock speed of stock ram; may i know why you are going for that clock speed instead of the stock one?
