G55vw bios power energy saver issue

Hello everyone. My issue is an odd one. I've done countless Google searches but I just can't find a solution. Last night I was trying to resolve an issue where my laptop would either shut down or just lock up when the lid was shut instead of going to sleep. I went into the bios and changed power energy saver to disabled. After saving and rebooting my laptop will now only turn on the keyboard will briefly light up and then the light will go out and the screen will stay black. Nothing else will happen unless I turn it off and turn it back on. Even if I do that it'll just repeat the same process. I have already tried a few steps and none of them have worked. They are:

1. Resetting the CMOS battery
2. Removing the HDD and turning it on
3. Removing all the RAM and trying each one out and turning it on
4. Holding ctrl + home while turning it on
5. Pressing F2 repeatedly while turning it on(and pretty much every other button)

So please if you have any insight as to why this is happening I would really appreciate it. I just cannot understand why changing the energy save mode would do this.
