G551JW, no sound in some games

Hi,

I have a G551JW- CN277D Laptop and I have issues with so sound coming through speakers or headphones in some games.
In Fallout 4, Far Cry 4 I have absolutely no sound. In games like Diablo 3, WoW, NFS Shift2 I have no issues. Driver is up to date, from http://www.asus.com/support
I have tried the same games on my Desktop PC and they work fine there. Any ideas how to fix this?

Are you sure your speakers are configured correctly? Are they set at laptop speakers or 2.1, I had similar issues when I had my sound configuration set as 5.1

Thanks for replying. I don't have the option to set speakers as 5.1 anywhere, they're set to stereo.


Edit: Seems that installing DirectX from the Fallout 4 game folder has fixed the issue...
