G551JM Display Driver Crashes

So since I first got my laptop about nine months ago I've used only the latest NVIDIA driver available from the ASUS downloads page, and have had no problems. However with the recent release of the SW:Battlefront beta I was forced to upgrade my drivers in order to play. So I installed 358.50 and was able to play perfectly fine for 2-3 days.
Now, whenever I open a game (any game at all), at some point the display will freeze and I will get a windows notification saying "a display driver has stopped responding and has recovered". This usually happens during loading screens.

I've tried completely uninstalling both my Intel and NVIDIA drivers with DDU and reinstalling the latest versions to no avail.

I have discovered a workaround which is to go to my Device Manager and disable and then re-enable my 860m display adapter, after which games seem to run fine. However this is, as you can imagine, very frustrating and annoying to have to do every time I restart my notebook.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

just use the driver 355.98. the latest nvidia driver has problems with battlefront and overall lower fps

I did a clean install of 355.98 and so far the problem seems to be fixed.
Thanks for the help!
