G551j Wrong BIOS and BOOT resolution

It's a little annoying that this beautiful fullHD IPS screen displays the BIOS and the WIndows Boot screen in 1024×768. There's should be a BIOS upgrade to change this to 1920×1080.

I had the same issue with my GL551JW after I RMA'd it. They enabled CMS mode which throws the laptop in emulating BIOS. Disable it to re-enable UEFI mode.

Note, your installation of whatever OS you're using MUST support UEFI booting (Windows 7 and 8 do), and the hard drive must be GPT partitioned. If your laptop does not boot after disabling CMS mode, re-enable it and find instructions on repairing UEFI support.
