G550jk Replacement keyboard.

Hi. I need to replace my keyboard, since Coca Cola has made it useless. 😞
I cannot find a relacement in estore - and I'm wondering if a replacement exists.

Does anyone know if it exists - and if so - where to buy it?

I've found this disassembly guide ...

But sadly it does not show how to take the keyboard out.
Can anyone tell me how to do that?

If it's anything like the N550JK, you'll need to remove and replace the entire top case/assembly, which is quite a task.

N550JK guide here.

I believe the G550 and N550 share the same casing.

Hi .. .First - thanks for answering .. nice to hear from someone 🙂

It's true that they look similar.
But from what I can tell from the two dismantle guide, I will have to take it totally apart .. and what I'm left with is the keyboard/top plate.

Would that be a correct assumption?
I've emailed asus support for an answer - and will post it here when/if I get it.

Dismantling is not the problem -- remembering how to put it back together, might be a challenge 🙂

Haha, you are welcome. 🙂

I believe you will be forced to remove the system board in order to swap the top case/plate. The keyboard and trackpad assembly is all one piece, so you're stuck with replacing that entire top section of the chassis. I don't think Asus will help you with disassembly, but if they provide something helpful, please do post back and summarize what they said. 🙂
