G550 Release Date?

I want to get the G550JK-DS71 for college but I need it before this semester begins (August 20th). I want to pre-order it from xoticpc (says ETA is end of June...but I've heard otherwise)... does anyone think it will be released in time for me to get it or should I look at other options?

I thought it was a fall release?

It looks really good, similar concept is the new Lenovo g10 or something.

Msi gh60/70 ghost is also slimmer and more powerful, but not as much ultrabook like that the g550 is

Well xoticpc must be lying... I guess I should look else where.

Isn't the N550JV almost the same thing? I would just order it but the website says it is on back order and that scares me even more than the pre-order on the G550. I've considered lenovo and MSI, but I've had good experience with Asus and was hoping to stick with it.

😞 G550 looks nice. and has got installed GTX 850M and "only" for about 1000$

I paid 3 months ago the same for G56 [almost the same, but GTX 760M].....ehh 😞

So I can;t understand this. They made G56 ...and few weeks later G550 whch has almost the same nice design, but better GPU and costs almost the same ?

However 1366x768 screen? strange

Better wait anothe 3 months for a version with GTX 860M 😉
