G53SW Horrible audio popping.

Recently I've become aggravated that my G53 is producing severe popping noises in my audio. I think I only picked up on it when I plugged my speakers into them, however the sounds have pretty much always existed as long as I've known, just being far less a problem as they were for the most part unnoticeable.

Regardless of my sound settings, including disabling TruStudio settings (It had been set as external speakers, as otherwise the sound output of the G53 is abysmal and far too quiet.) I have uninstalled and reinstalled both TruStudio and my Realtek drivers, yet the popping persists. It is so constant, and with external speakers making it so noticeable that it ruins my experience with music.

Sorta, they seem to be far rarer, than the almost constant popping, but they're still noticeable.

Did you do the registry edit recommended and reboot your laptop?

Did you mute your microphone?

I did do the registry edit and restart, and muting my microphone did absolutely nothing. And I was wrong, after a while it just starts to get worse. This is regardless of going through speakers, headphones, onboard speakers. No amount of settings changed in either the realtek menu nor the truStudio have worked either.

If you go into "Control Panel - Hardware and Sound - Sound" and select the "Recording" tab, select your microphone, click on the "Properties" button, select the "Listen" tab of the "Microphone Properties" dialog, is the "Listen to this device" checkbox checked? If so UNcheck it.

It's not checked. Surprisingly this is the largest issue I'm having with my laptop. Which is a good thing.

If you uninstall just Creative THX TruStudio, does it resolve the issue? With TruStudio uninstalled, the Realtek HD Audio Manager will display an equalizer under the Speakers "Enhancements" tab. You can configure it for your sound preference as opposed to the fixed equalization of TruStudio.

That didn't really do anything, but I was wondering where that equalization menu was. The popping doesn't seem to be affected by anything.

Got one more thing... Does the popping disappear when you are on battery? If so, it could be a bad power adapter or bad grounding in the outlet you are using.
